He came to us to calm the horse
But actually caused a stir
But soon they became good friends
Until there was one more.
The new horse was an ornery snot
who like to tease Chuck a lot
Chuck was a cute little steer
Where you were, he'd appear
Chuck sometimes was a pain
Because he could NOT refrain
As an out-cast he stood aside
Until off on the horses we would ride
Then Chuck would look around
To see if trouble could be found
There were barrels to roll
And bins to push or pull
Fence boards to break
Make no mistake
Trees and bushes to strip
Chuck didn’t give a rip
But now Chuck is roast
Turned to steak and stew
When I think of him on ice
It kind of makes me blue
R.I.P. Chuck
